About Adam Hansen
15+ years in the dirt, on the floor and in the “director’s chair”.
I didn’t start Hansen Recycling and Consulting from behind a desk. I built my career running complex scrap metal, battery recycling, e-waste operations and specialist recycling such as mercury bearing waste facilities across South Australia, Northern Territory and New Zealand.
From managing multi-site processing and remote contractor networks - spanning from Adelaide to Kununurra via Alice Springs, Nhulunbuy and Darwin - to standing up new facilities in Adelaide, Darwin, Auckland and Christchurch from the ground up, I’ve overseen the real-world logistics, safety, and P&L of large-scale resource recovery.
I started this consultancy to give industry, councils, mine sites and waste operators access to someone who’s actually run the yard - not just written reports about it. Someone who’s delivered major infrastructure and solved high-risk operational problems firsthand.
